The Primordial Beings

The Primordial Beings are a catagory that most people don't hear about in Greek Mythology. These were the very beings of creation. They were the first entinties in the Greek World. I use the word entities because they never really took the form of humans. These beings were personifications of certain things. Gaea was a primordial being. She was the personification of the Earth and the mother of most living things. Even though they didn't really take the form of humans, Gaea still had a husband. His name was Ouranous. He was the personification of the Sky. There was a personification of the Sea too, he was Pontus. There was also Chaos. Chaos is even older than Gaea or Ouranous. He was the first thing that existed. These gods were respected and there are many myhts about Gaea and Ouranous. These two were the parents of the Titans, Cyclopes, and the Hekatonkheires or the Hundred-Handed Ones.
